The Porn Myth
Quote:
...[T]he effect [of the Internet's porn-o-rama] is not making men into raving beasts. On the contrary: The onslaught of porn is responsible for deadening male libido in relation to real women, and leading men to see fewer and fewer women as “porn-worthy.” Far from having to fend off porn-crazed young men, young women are worrying that as mere flesh and blood, they can scarcely get, let alone hold, their attention.

Huh.
This situation occurs in Gay culture as well. We take our selves off to the gym (or gravitate toward "niche markets"). I can't say that I've ever heard a Gay man complaining that porn makes "flesh and blood" men not porn-worthy. Certainly a great many men are not -- I would be among them. But it's not like the fellows in porn aren't made out of flesh and blood... they're quite real (and not all that separated from "the norm").
Alas, no remedy has yet been found for ceasing to be (or at least look) 20. When I discover one, I will gladly put it on the market (at a sharply discounted rate to be sure... as a philanthropic gesture). |

I have been given to understand that having lots and lots of money does tend to ameliorate the effects a lot, at least in some circles. As a good friend once commented, "Maybe money doesn't enable you to buy love, but you can sure as hell rent it." |

Who ever has invented pornography, deserves the Nobel Prize for Peace. If some women's boyfriends/husbands do not wish to have sex with them, maybe the girls are doing something wrong? Just a suggestion... There are many good things one can learn from a good porno film - in Amsterdam they sell the stuff as "educational material." |

Says your friend.
As with the hackneyed (and insane) notion that money cannot buy happiness, I would suggest that anyone who thinks money cannot buy love just doesn't know how to shop.
Of course, as with houses and automobiles, renting is frequently the better option. |
