Former PM Sir Edward Health went "cottaging" for gay sex in the 1950s, it was claimed last night. Tory London Assembly member Brian Coleman said it was well known Heath went looking for sex with men in public toilets.
He added the future Tory leader only stopped when he was warned it would affect his political career.
Coleman, writing in the
New Statesman magazine, claimed: "The late Ted Heath managed to obtain the highest office of state after he was supposedly advised to cease cottaging activities in the 1950s."
