Homophobic Crime Writer Killed
19 September 2007
A gay rights campaigner who was killed near his home had just published a report on homophobic crime in London.
The Evening Standard reports that market research boss Tony Hoare, 49, was attacked as he walked his two Jack Russell dogs in Charlton Park on the way home from the Swan pub.
He was found unconscious and died in hospital.
A 43 year old man has appeared in court charged with manslaughter. Two other men were arrested and released on bail pending further inquiries.
A curious story. It's fairly customary to identify people charged with serious crimes by name.
