(USA) - There is growing concern among researchers and activists over a trend among gay young people: Many are homeless. In Colorado Springs, 20 percent to 40 percent of clients at the Urban Peak youth homeless shelter say they are gay, bisexual or transgender. That compares with 3 percent to 5 percent of U.S. residents who call themselves gay. Definitions vary, but generally the age grouping runs from the early teens to 22.
